Rochenda Howard, Physiotherapist

Ms. Howard received a B.A. in Physical Education from the University of Western Ontario in 1982, a B.Sc. in Physiotherapy from the University of Toronto in 1985 and a M.Sc. Research degree in Rehabilitation Therapy (Motor Performance) in 2001 from Queens University, Canada.

Rochenda worked in Canada in outpatient neurology and orthopaedic settings before moving to Hong Kong in 1993.  Rochenda has focused exclusively for the past 20 years on the development of a PILATES–based Physiotherapy treatment system to re-educate and restore the bodies’ optimal neuro-muscular-skeletal balance.  This system is well established in Hong Kong, Rochenda founding the successful Biokinetik / B.E.T. Pilates Physiotherapy Rehabilitation Centre there in 1993.  Rochenda worked as a clinician and director of the Hong Kong clinic until 2011 before returning to her native Toronto.

Rochenda has as special interest in movement and muscle imbalance and she has been involved in research, publication, and presentation of Pilates - based exercise rehabilitation approaches.  She is active in education; teaching courses to physiotherapists in both the public and private sectors in Hong Kong, New Zealand, Switzerland and Canada since 1997.

Rochenda is excited to be part of the team at Complete Balance Health Centre and to bring the mat component of this Physio-PILATES system to compliment the clinic services.

Rochenda enjoys spending time with her 2 daughters, travel, outdoor activities and keeps fit running and cycling.
