Sauna FAQs

How big is the Sauna?

We have the most popular unit model which is large enough for 2-3 people. It’s ideal for a couple who wants to enjoy sauna together. Couple saunas provide great opportunities to share feelings, relax, and create bonding.

How does the Far Infrared Sauna work?

Far infra red rays or FIR are completely safe and beneficial to the human body. They are so safe that doctors use them in hospitals to warm newborn babies. FIR are naturally occurring and are the beneficial portion of sunlight that we can receive. Infrared heaters in the sauna operate the same way as natural sunlight but without the harmful side effects of solar radiation.

The heat from an infrared sauna safely and comfortably penetrates up to 2” deep into the body, even your organs and deep tissues are stimulated. This induces sweating 2-3 times as much as a conventional sauna at a lower temperature. The effects are to increase circulation, nourish damaged tissues, pull chemicals and the build-up toxins from fat storage directly into our sweat, and improve your vitality.

How long is each sauna session?

Normally, a sauna session is schedule for 45 minutes.

What do I wear?

Ideally, you wear as little clothing as possible so the light rays produced by the sauna can pass deep to the skin, However, as with all treatments at our centre the client is always in control so you can decide to wear what ever amount of clothes you feel comfortable wearing.

How often do I need to sauna?

Daily saunas generate the best affect over a period of time. However, 1-2 sessions per week may be more practical for most people and produces great results.

If you have been diagnosed with, or suspect any of the following disorders, infrared sauna therapy may not be appropriate for you:

  • Adrenal suppression and systematic lupus erythematosus or multiple sclerosis.
  • Recent (acute, within 48 hours) joint injury, chronically hot and swollen joints, enclosed infections (either dental, in-joints or any other tissue).
  • Pregnancy or suspected pregnancy.
  • Breastfeeding
  • Metal pins, rods, artificial joints or any other surgical implant due to the reflection of infrared rays by these articles.
  • Hemophiliacs and anyone predisposed to hemorrhage should avoid any type of heating that would induce vasodilatation, which can potentiate the tendency to bleed.

Sometimes I have trouble breathing when it is warm, is far infrared sauna a good idea?

Infrared saunas differ from traditional saunas because they operate at a temperature of 90-145 F compared to a traditional sauna that operates at 185-230 F. This allows you to be able to breathe comfortably and enjoy the benefits for extended periods of time. In addition, you can also control and turn down the temperature from inside the sauna.
