Dr. Alex Tacconelli is received his Doctorate of Chiropractic from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC). Prior to studying at CMCC, he received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Kinesiology from York University. While studying at York University, Alex worked part-time as an assistant pharmaceutical technician. It was during this time that he realized the void manual therapy could fill by appropriately diagnosing and treating various musculoskeletal conditions instead of such conditions being treated through conventional pharmaceutical interventions. This experience, in conjunction with his passion for human anatomy, physiology and exercise, assisted Dr. Tacconelli in choosing a career path within the chiropractic profession.
While completing his clinical rotations at CMCC’s Campus Clinic and Bronte Clinic in Oakville, Dr. Tacconelli learned the importance of implementing a patient-centred approach, a strategy which empowers patients to make informed decisions regarding their treatment of care. Alex has also received specialized training in movement-based assessment screening (SFMA Level 1) and soft tissue therapy (Functional Range Release) which has helped him to assess, identify and treat dysfunctional movement patterns and soft tissue complaints. Dr. Tacconelli has a special interest in the treatment and rehabilitation of sport-related injuries but welcomes all patients regardless of their age or athletic abilities.
Dr. Alex Tacconelli is a resident of Vaughan ON, where he was born and raised. When he is not in clinic or furthering his knowledge at a seminar, he can be found tasting some of Toronto’s greatest eats or improving on his skills in either hockey, soccer or golf.
